The Buyer role is part of a global Indirect Purchasing (IDP) organization. This position is responsible for developing and implementing both short- and long-term sourcing strategies, identifying new suppliers and technologies, and fostering strong supplier relationships. The initial focus will be to support the Global Events team and Sales Units in Europe, ensuring their event-related purchasing needs are met in close collaboration with business stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage sourcing activities for external services across the organization, with a strong emphasis on the needs of the European Marketing & Communications teams related to Events, Test Drives, Partnerships, and Influencer collaborations.
• Conduct procurement activities according to established strategies and frameworks.
• Negotiate commercial and legal agreements, including the creation of Service Agreements.
• Review purchase requisitions, identify and select suppliers, and align decisions with defined sourcing strategies and existing agreements.
• Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders throughout the procurement process, enhancing collaboration and alignment toward shared goals.
• Monitor supplier and stakeholder contract compliance through KPIs; identify and implement corrective actions where needed.
• Perform market analysis to support sourcing activities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Conduct supplier evaluations and audits to ensure quality and performance standards are met.

Deliverables

• Project cost summaries and sourcing reports.
• Clear understanding of services to be sourced and their business requirements.
• Development and presentation of potential supplier lists to stakeholders.
• Management of the full RFQ process: preparation, distribution, negotiation, and supplier selection.
• Preparation and presentation of business cases for supplier recommendations to management.
• Supplier onboarding following selection.
• Contract negotiation and purchase order management, including change orders and payment follow-up.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

• Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Purchasing, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Indirect Purchasing, ideally within Marketing Services categories.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in developing Service Agreements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Service-minded and adaptable, with the ability to quickly grasp stakeholder needs and adjust working methods to find optimal solutions.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and large volumes of data efficiently in a structured and timely manner.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); German or other European languages are a plus.
• Experience working in global and multicultural environments.
• Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel). Experience with procurement or administrative tools such as SRM, Fieldglass, or Workday is advantageous.
