Senior Buyer - Aftermarket & Logistics
Experienced Buyer in Aftermarket & Logistics, driving strategic sourcing, strengthening supplier relations, and supporting European operations within a global IDP organization.
The Buyer role is part of a global Indirect Purchasing (IDP) organization. The position is responsible for driving both short- and long-term sourcing strategies, identifying new suppliers and technologies, and developing existing supplier relationships. The initial focus will be on supporting European Sales Operations in collaboration with business stakeholders.
The main areas of responsibility include Roadside Assistance, Aftermarket Services, Vehicle Compound Services, and Logistics within the EMEA region.
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct sourcing activities for purchased services across the organization, with a strong emphasis on European Sales Operations needs related to Roadside Assistance, Aftermarket, Vehicle Compound Services, and Logistics.
- Execute procurement activities in line with established strategies and frameworks.
- Negotiate commercial and legal agreements, including drafting Service Agreements.
- Review purchase requisitions and identify suitable suppliers in accordance with defined strategies and existing contracts.
- Advise and support stakeholders throughout the procurement process, fostering collaboration and alignment toward shared objectives.
- Monitor supplier performance and contract compliance; initiate corrective actions where necessary.
- Conduct market analysis to inform sourcing decisions.
- Build and maintain relationships with both suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Carry out supplier evaluations and audits as needed.
Expected Deliverables
- Project cost summaries and status reports.
- Sourcing status updates and reports.
- Comprehensive understanding of the services to be sourced.
- Preparation and presentation of potential supplier lists to stakeholders.
- Management of the full RFQ process, including negotiation and supplier selection.
- Development of business cases and presentations for management approval.
- Supplier onboarding and contract negotiation.
- Placement and follow-up of purchase orders, including change orders and payments.
Required Qualifications and Competencies
- Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Purchasing, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Indirect Purchasing, ideally within Aftermarket Services categories.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience drafting Service Agreements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to quickly understand stakeholder needs, demonstrate flexibility, and adapt working methods for optimal results.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and large data sets efficiently and accurately.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); Swedish or other European languages are advantageous.
- Experience working in an international environment with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel). Experience with procurement or administrative tools such as SRM, Fieldglass, and/or Workday is a strong plus.
