Costing & Commercial Controller - Gothenburg
Senior Product Costing Controller wanted to drive pricing, profitability, and sales decisions in a global manufacturing environment. High-impact role supporting negotiations and strategic growth.
We are looking for a Senior Product Costing Controller for our client in Gothenburg. In this role, you will act as the key financial partner to the Sales organization within a global industrial company. The purpose of the assignment is to ensure that pricing strategies, customer offers, and commercial decisions are supported by accurate product costing and solid financial analysis.
You will provide Sales teams with clear cost structures and profitability insights, playing an important role in customer negotiations and business evaluations. This is a high-impact position involving close collaboration with Sales leadership and senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Partnership: Serve as the main financial point of contact for Sales, offering cost transparency and strategic business recommendations.
Negotiation Support: Assist Account Managers in customer discussions with data-driven insights on cost structures and margin implications.
Financial Scenarios: Develop pricing strategies and financial simulations to support negotiation tactics and commercial positioning.
Profitability Management: Take ownership of product costing and margin analysis, identifying financial risks and improvement opportunities.
Investment & Opportunity Assessment: Evaluate business opportunities and provide go/no-go recommendations based on financial viability and long-term profitability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Procurement and Engineering to assess supplier quotes and the financial impact of technical changes.
Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and enhancement of costing tools and commercial finance processes.
Requirements
Experience: 4–8 years of experience in commercial controlling, product costing, or financial analysis within automotive or other advanced manufacturing environments.
Analytical Skills: Strong financial modeling skills with advanced Excel proficiency; experience with BI tools is a plus.
Industry Knowledge: Good understanding of manufacturing cost structures and production processes.
Communication: Ability to translate complex financial data into clear and actionable insights for both commercial teams and management.
Mindset: Proactive, self-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment.
Merit: Experience with TcPCM (Teamcenter Product Cost Management) or similar systems is advantageous but not required.
